The electronic control and diagnostic system
GFT 19.0 was developed for error detection
of escalators in stores and in standard traffic
installations.
To make the retrofitting of existing systems
easier the control system was equipped with
plugs which fully fulfil any provisions of the
category 4 according to EN 954-1 PL e,
according to ISO 13849-1, SILCL 3, according
to EN IEC 62061, EN IEC 61508 and to DIN
151-1 (safety of escalators and moving
walks).
Converting the fuse circuits to 24V DC lead to a maximum of safety. Any safety related contacts are observed individually and, in case of a failure, locked and switched off.
Faults are indicated on a central display of the control system in plain text. Any occurring faults are shown within intervals of four (4) seconds.
Lubrication pulse and pause can be set and
changed at any time during normal operation.
This is also possible during run time (basic
running time, counter operation, fast
operation, after-running time of brake).
The control version which controls the
motor's star / delta operation is equipped
with a passenger counter. If direction "up"
was selected and there are more than 13
persons on the escalator operation is
switched to delta operation.
To observe the handrails and the rotational
speed three wire technology is used. Beside
the display of braking distance, temperature
acquisition and temperature evaluation the
detection of asymmetrical operation is performed
by the separately available evaluation
device. The control system allows connecting
of a system which allows to resume the normal
operation (WBS = Wiederbereitschaftsschaltung
(automatic restart system)). To use it, the
safety circuit has to be closed before the
emergency stop occurs and the system has to
switched to on (traffic light switched to green).
The GFT research and development department develops solutions for many problems arising in everyday practical work. The control system GFT 19.0 evidences that using latest technology for escalators is not only subject for new installations: Retrofitting is easy to accomplish. Because of the compact form factor (dimensions 350 mm x 480 mm x 80 mm) the GFT 19.0 is a perfect fit in any electrical cabinet – there is no need for structural changes. Installing and the technical integration based on the PLUG & GO replacement reduced the non-operating time to a minimum (24 to 48 hours). The full compliance to any technical regulations and standards results in a system which is future proof to a high degree. The use of high quality industrial components and its perfect adaptability to the needs of the application increases the efficiency of service. The GFT 19.0 amortizes itself by a minimum down time and the reduction of repairing (plain text error display) and down time intervals (electromagnetic interference protection). Maintenance and support can be performed on-site by the user.
